The purpose of the proposed program is to support university and community residency with Ghanaian-Swedish artist, teacher, and cultural advocate, Stevie Nii-Adu Mensah, who performs under the name Mensahighlife, during the 2020-21 academic year.

College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences
The Ohio State University's (OSU) Environmental Professionals Network (EPN), a service of the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR), Dr. Matt Pratola (Associate Professor, OSU Department of Statistics) and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) are co-organizing a major week-long program with prominent climate scientist Dr. Katharine Hayhoe to OSU, the Columbus Metropolitan Region, as well as surrounding areas, including Athens, Ohio. The program will now be held virtually.

The College of Education and Human Ecology Department of Teaching and Learning and the College of Arts and Sciences Department of Spanish and Portuguese will co-host a conference for K-12 teachers and administrators titled Dual Language Summit: Pathways to Biliteracy for English Learners in the Ohio Union on February 20-21, 2021.

The Department of Family Medicine is establishing an annual lecture series to honor the late Wilburn H. Weddington, MD, and his instrumental work as a trailblazer for diversity and inclusion at the Ohio State College of Medicine and within our department. Dr. Weddington was the first African-American at the College of Medicine to be promoted to full professor, and then an associate dean. For the inaugural event, we're inviting Lamercie M. Saint-Hilaire, MD, Assistant Professor, Assistant Residency Program Director and Population Health Director at Duke University's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She brings a wealth of expertise in health equity and health disparities research, anti-oppression, curriculum development and unconscious bias initiatives.

This weekly webinar series will culminate in the 2020 SciAccess Conference. This will be an all-day virtual conference on June 29, the one-year anniversary of the 2019 SciAccess Conference. Grant funds will be used to secure external keynote speakers for SciAccess, the virtual Ohio State conference.
OSU Extension
Support for 2019 OSU Extension Annual Conference brought together faculty and staff from across the organization, including representatives from 88 county offices to share best practices, program impact, and new programmatic initiatives. Note: not part of 2020 grant process.
